AI SDR software, AI SDR agents and AI BDR tools, compared by what they actually cost

The short answer

AI SDR software is one label sold for three products that do different jobs. Autonomous AI SDR agents such as AiSDR, Artisan's Ava and 11x's Alice research a contact, write the email, send it and work the reply, and they price per contact researched: AiSDR publishes $250 a month for 200 contacts, $900 for 800 and $2,500 for 2,500, which is roughly $1.00 to $1.25 per contact. AI-assisted sales engagement platforms such as Regie.ai price per seat instead, from $180 per user a month on an annual contract with a 10 seat minimum, so the real entry price is $1,800 a month rather than $180. Inbound agents such as Qualified's Piper work the traffic already on your website and never send cold outbound at all. Only two of those five publish a price; Artisan, 11x and Qualified route every tier to a demo.

The phrase AI SDR got attached to three product categories inside about eighteen months, and they are not substitutes for each other. The first is the autonomous outbound agent: 11x's Alice, Artisan's Ava, AiSDR. You give it an ICP, it builds the list, researches each contact, writes a distinct email, sends it and handles the first reply. The second is the AI-assisted sales engagement platform, where Regie.ai sits alongside cold email software including this one. The AI does research and drafting, a human keeps the strategy and the send decision. The third is the inbound agent, which is what Qualified's Piper is. It works the visitors already on your website, qualifies them and pushes them into a booking flow. It does not do outbound. A buyer who searches for AI SDR software, books a Qualified demo and signs is going to be surprised, because they bought a product that will never send a cold email.

The more expensive confusion is the pricing unit, and it is the reason so many outbound ROI comparisons come out wrong by an order of magnitude. Autonomous AI SDRs charge per contact researched. AiSDR's published plans are $250 a month for 200 contacts, $900 for 800 and $2,500 for 2,500, which lands between $1.00 and $1.25 for every contact the system touches. Sending software charges per mailbox or per seat and treats your contact count as your business. So when a team lines up $900 a month against a $97 a month sending tool and concludes the AI SDR is nine times the price, they have compared two different units. The honest comparison is what the $900 buys that the $97 does not, which is the list, the research and the copy. Whether that is worth roughly a dollar a contact depends entirely on your deal size, and for a $40,000 ACV it very often is.

Seat minimums are the second number that does not appear in roundups. Regie.ai publishes $180 per user per month for its AI SEP tier, which reads like the cheapest serious option on this page until you get to the 10 seat minimum on an annual contract. The actual floor is $1,800 a month, and that tier includes no data credits. The Force Multiplier Rep tier is $499 per user with a 5 seat minimum, so $2,495 a month, and it does include roughly 120,000 credits, about 1,000 accounts or 4,000 contacts. Mailbox rotation is a separate $50 to $100 per user per month add-on and the parallel dialer is $1,800 per user per year. None of that is hidden, it is published on their own page, but a per-seat headline with a double-digit seat minimum is not a per-seat price in any way a five person team would recognize.

Then there is the question of what an AI SDR fixes, which is narrower than the category implies. Every one of these products compresses the same step: turning a name into a researched, written, sent email. That step really was the bottleneck for a lot of teams, and automating it is genuinely valuable. What none of them do is decide who to email or what to say that a stranger would care about. If your reply rate is low because the ICP is wrong or the offer is weak, an AI SDR does not repair that, it reproduces it faster and at higher volume, which on a cold domain is an active liability rather than a neutral one. The 24/7 claim is also softer than it sounds when the channel is email, because the binding constraint is mailbox capacity at 20 to 50 sends a day per warmed inbox, not how many hours a human is awake. Adding hours to a system limited by mailboxes changes nothing.

AutoMail is in the second category and it is worth being plain about that. It writes hyper-personalized sequences from researched detail, connects Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 mailboxes over OAuth, warms every mailbox, rotates volume across the pool, checks SPF, DKIM and DMARC alignment on each sending domain before it sends, follows up on its own, detects replies in the mailbox and pauses the sequence the moment a person answers, then classifies intent and routes meeting-ready replies to your booking link. It does not sell you the contact database and it does not pretend to replace the judgment of the person running the campaign. You bring the list and the positioning, the software does the research, the writing, the deliverability work and the follow-up. If what you want is a vendor that owns the whole motion end to end and you are comfortable paying about a dollar per contact for it, an autonomous AI SDR is the honest recommendation and the table below tells you what each one charges.

It works hand in hand with cold email tool, email outreach software and ai email outreach, all included in one flat cold email software price.

Why it works

What your team gets with AI SDR software

Priced per mailbox, not per contact

Autonomous AI SDRs bill for every contact they research, which puts your list size on the invoice. AutoMail prices the sending infrastructure and leaves the contact count to you, so growing the list does not reprice the tool.

No seat minimum to get in

The cheapest published per-seat AI SDR tier in this category carries a 10 seat annual minimum, so the real floor is four figures a month. A two person team can run AutoMail without buying eight seats it will not use.

Outbound, not inbound chat

Several products marketed as an AI SDR only work traffic that already reached your website. AutoMail is built for the opposite job: reaching researched prospects who have never heard of you, from mailboxes and domains you own.

What the five best known AI SDR platforms actually charge

Every figure below was read first-party from the vendor's own pricing page on 15 August 2026. Two of the five publish a number. The other three route every tier to a sales call.

Platform Published price, first-party What that price actually buys Where AutoMail differs
AiSDR Solo $250/mo, Explore $900/mo, Scale $2,500/mo. All billed monthly; Explore and Scale carry a three month commitment. No free trial on any plan. 200, 800 and 2,500 AI-researched contacts a month respectively, so roughly $1.25, $1.13 and $1.00 per contact. Solo is a single user with 1 domain and 3 mailboxes; Scale gets 6 domains and 18 mailboxes. Prices the mailboxes and the seat, not the contacts. Your list can grow without the invoice moving, because you supply the data.
Regie.ai AI SEP $180/user/mo with a 10 seat minimum. Force Multiplier Rep $499/user/mo with a 5 seat minimum. Both annual. Enterprise is quote-only. The seat minimums are the real price: $1,800/mo to enter, and the $180 tier includes no data credits at all. Force Multiplier adds about 120,000 credits, roughly 1,000 accounts or 4,000 contacts. Mailbox rotation is a $50 to $100/user/mo add-on; the parallel dialer is $1,800/user/yr. No seat minimum, and mailbox rotation and warm-up are part of the product rather than a per-user add-on.
Artisan (Ava) Not published. All three tiers, Team, Scale and Enterprise, state that pricing is scoped to your plan. Plans are sized to lead volume, mailboxes and dialer seats, so the quote moves with your list. Team is described at about 2,500 leads contacted a month and Scale at about 6,000, which is the only sizing signal on the page. Published pricing you can evaluate before you agree to a call.
11x (Alice) Not published anywhere on the site. Every call to action is Get a Live Demo. Alice is the outbound AI SDR; Julian is a separate inbound phone agent. Enterprise-priced with no self-serve entry point, so budgeting means a sales conversation first. Self-serve signup with no demo gate between you and a running sequence.
Qualified (Piper) Not published. Premier, Enterprise and Ultimate all route to Schedule a demo. Piper is inbound. It works visitors already on your website, qualifies them against your criteria and routes them into a booking flow. It does not send cold outbound, which is what most people searching this category are shopping for. Outbound only, to researched prospects who have never visited your site or heard of you.

Read first-party from each vendor's own pricing page on 15 August 2026. Third-party roundups currently quote an Artisan entry price of about $250 a month; Artisan's own page no longer publishes any figure, so that number is not repeated here. Vendors revise pricing frequently, so confirm the current terms before you budget against any of this.

Good questions

Questions about AI SDR software

An AI SDR is software that performs the sales development steps a junior rep would: building a prospect list, researching each contact, writing a personalized outbound email, sending it, following up and handling the first reply. The label is applied to three different product types, from fully autonomous agents to AI-assisted sending tools to inbound website chat agents.
Published pricing runs from $250 to $2,500 a month at AiSDR depending on how many contacts you want researched, and from $180 to $499 per user per month at Regie.ai before its 10 and 5 seat minimums push the real floor to $1,800 and $2,495. Artisan, 11x and Qualified do not publish pricing at all.
Nothing meaningful in how the software works. SDR and BDR describe how a company splits its sales development team, usually inbound versus outbound or by segment, and vendors pick whichever acronym their buyers use. Every product marketed as an AI BDR in 2026 does the same jobs as the ones marketed as an AI SDR.
They reliably compress one step, turning a name into a researched, written, sent email, and that step is genuinely expensive to do by hand. They do not fix targeting or positioning. If replies are low because the ICP or the offer is wrong, an AI SDR reproduces the same message faster, which on a young sending domain makes the deliverability problem worse rather than neutral.
It replaces the research and drafting workload, not the judgment. Deciding which segment to attack, what claim will land with it, and when to change course after two weeks of flat replies still needs a person. The teams getting the most out of these tools run one operator over a system that used to need three or four junior reps.
It depends on which of the three products you actually need. For a fully outsourced motion where the vendor owns list, copy and sending, AiSDR publishes the clearest per-contact pricing. For a seat-based team platform with dialing, Regie.ai. For converting website traffic rather than cold prospects, Qualified. For sending and deliverability where you own the list, a cold email platform is the cheaper fit.
Run the per-contact math against your deal size. At roughly $1.00 to $1.25 per researched contact, 800 contacts a month costs about $900. If your average contract is $40,000 and one meeting in eight closes, a single deal covers a year of it. At a $3,000 ACV the same spend rarely clears, and sending software plus your own list usually wins.
It sources or ingests contacts, enriches and verifies them, researches each company for a personalization hook, drafts the email and the follow-ups, schedules sends across connected mailboxes, watches for replies, classifies them by intent and pushes the interested ones to a booking link or a rep. The 24/7 framing matters less than it sounds, because email volume is capped by mailbox capacity rather than by working hours.
Establish which unit you are buying first. If you are paying per contact, the vendor owns the list and your bill scales with prospect volume. If you are paying per seat, check the seat minimum before you compare headline prices, because a $180 per user tier with a 10 seat floor is an $1,800 product. Then confirm it does outbound at all, since several products in this category only work inbound traffic.
The software does not make you compliant, your setup does. Every commercial email needs honest header and subject information, a valid physical postal address and a working opt-out that you honor within 10 business days. Automation makes the volume larger, so a missing address or an unhonored unsubscribe becomes a much bigger exposure than it would be by hand.
They can, because volume is the thing they are best at and reputation is the thing that punishes it. A tool that sends hundreds of messages a day from a new domain will land in spam regardless of how good the copy is. Warm each mailbox for two to three weeks, keep every inbox at 20 to 50 sends a day, and grow capacity by adding mailboxes rather than raising the load on the ones you have.
