PhantomBuster Email Finder Credits and Pricing
PhantomBuster finds emails with monthly credits: 500 on Start ($56 annual), 2,500 on Grow ($128) and 10,000 on Scale ($352). One credit is one attempt, found or not, and there is no email sending step. What a found email really costs and what sending the list costs.

PhantomBuster's email finder runs on monthly email credits: 500 a month on Start ($69, or $56 on annual billing), 2,500 on Grow ($159, or $128) and 10,000 on Scale ($439, or $352), with 50 on the trial. One credit is one attempt for one person, whether or not an address comes back. PhantomBuster finds and verifies emails but has no email sending step, so the cold email itself needs a second tool.
PhantomBuster email finder credits by plan
PhantomBuster sells every plan with unlimited users, and email discovery is one of five meters on each tier. We read the pricing grid and the help center in October 2026. Annual billing takes 20 percent off.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual, per month | Email credits a month | Execution time | Automation slots |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trial | 14 days | None | 50 | 2 hours | 5 |
| Start | $69 | $56 | 500 | 20 hours | 5 |
| Grow | $159 | $128 | 2,500 | 80 hours | 15 |
| Scale | $439 | $352 | 10,000 | 300 hours | 50 |
The trial is fine for testing match quality but not for a real list: exports stop at the first 10 rows, CSV upload is not accepted as an input, and JSON exports are off until you pay. Our European server saw the same figures in euros, so a US buyer should read the dollar number at checkout.
How the PhantomBuster email finder works
The dedicated automation is called the Professional Email Finder. You give it a spreadsheet with full names (or first and last names) and a company name or website, and it hands back the same sheet with an email column added. Email discovery is also an optional step inside about twenty other automations, including the LinkedIn Profile Scraper, LinkedIn Search to Emails and Sales Navigator Search to Emails, so most users find emails while they scrape.
- Default source: PhantomBuster credits, powered by BetterContact's waterfall enrichment. PhantomBuster says it queries 20+ data sources and runs several layers of verification before returning an address.
- Your own keys: you can plug in a Hunter.io, Dropcontact or Snov.io API key instead. Your provider's credits are spent first, then PhantomBuster's.
- Timing: about one minute per batch of profiles, according to the help center.
- Output: verified professional addresses where a match exists. PhantomBuster notes that verified does not guarantee delivery, and soft bounces still happen.
What one credit actually buys
This is the line most comparisons skip. PhantomBuster's help center defines one credit as one attempt to find and verify an email for one profile, and it warns that your successful results may be lower than the credits you used. Some tools charge only when an address comes back; PhantomBuster charges per try.
So the real price is per found email, not per credit. Your match rate depends on your list, so treat the figures below as worked examples rather than PhantomBuster numbers:
| Plan, annual | Credits | Found at a 60 percent match rate | Cost per found email | Found at 40 percent | Cost per found email |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Start, $56 | 500 | 300 | $0.19 | 200 | $0.28 |
| Grow, $128 | 2,500 | 1,500 | $0.09 | 1,000 | $0.13 |
| Scale, $352 | 10,000 | 6,000 | $0.06 | 4,000 | $0.09 |
Those costs assume you use the plan only for emails. Most buyers also spend the same subscription on scraping, LinkedIn actions and AI enrichment, so the email share is lower in practice. Two caveats from PhantomBuster's own troubleshooting page change the match rate more than the plan does: profiles outside your LinkedIn network often hide the company field, which means no lookup is possible, and typos or inconsistent company names produce misses. Running a sheet through a quick dedupe and normalize pass on the name and company columns before the finder runs keeps credits from being burned on duplicates and junk rows.
What happens when you run out of credits
The automation keeps running and keeps returning the other profile data, but the email column comes back empty with a "No email discovery credits left" message. Credits reset monthly on the date shown in your Resources page and do not carry over. Execution time works the same way: when the hours run out, automations pause until the reset or an upgrade, and PhantomBuster does not bill overage automatically.
Does PhantomBuster send emails?
No. PhantomBuster finds, verifies and exports addresses and can push leads into other tools, but its plan grid has no email sequence or sending step. Its own automations include ready-made routes such as LinkedIn Profiles to lemlist Campaign, plus HubSpot, Zapier, Make and n8n connections, so the found emails end up in a separate sending tool that you pay for on its own plan.
That second tool decides whether the list turns into meetings. A few hundred fresh addresses a month need warmed mailboxes, sending spread across several inboxes, a spam check before each send, and follow-ups that stop when someone answers. If the sender you pick lacks those, the cost per found email above is spent on bounces and spam folders.
What sending PhantomBuster leads costs
Here is the email half of the stack at entry level, from each vendor's pricing page. AutoMail is our product, so weigh that, but the numbers are the published ones.
| Sender | Entry plan, annual | Pricing basis | Writes the emails | Warm-up and rotation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AutoMail Starter | $24 a month ($49 monthly) | Flat per workspace, 5 inboxes, unlimited seats | Yes, researched 1:1 sequence per prospect | Yes |
| Smartlead Base | $32.50 a month | Per plan, unlimited mailboxes | No, AI assists only | Yes |
| Instantly Growth | $37.60 a month | Per plan, send only | No, AI assists only | Yes |
| lemlist Email | $55 a user a month | Per user | No, AI assists only | Warm-up included |
Start plus AutoMail Starter on annual billing comes to $80 a month for up to 500 lookups and a five-inbox sending pool that writes and sends each email for you. Grow plus AutoMail Growth ($49 a month annual, 25 inboxes) is $177 for 2,500 lookups, which is the pairing that fits a small sales team. If you are still choosing the LinkedIn side, our PhantomBuster vs Dripify comparison covers which of the two runs the outreach itself.
PhantomBuster email finder or a standalone finder
PhantomBuster earns its price when the list starts on LinkedIn or Sales Navigator, because scraping, enrichment and the email lookup happen in one run and the leads land in a sheet you already have. If you only need emails for a list you already own, a dedicated finder can be cheaper per address; our Hunter.io pricing breakdown and Snov.io pricing guide show what those cost, and both keys also plug into PhantomBuster if you want to keep one workflow.
Is PhantomBuster good for finding emails?
It is good when your prospects come from LinkedIn, because the finder sits inside the scrape and uses a waterfall across 20+ sources. It is weaker when the list is out-of-network profiles with hidden company data, since those return nothing, and every attempt still costs a credit whether or not an address is found.
How many emails can PhantomBuster find per month?
Up to as many credits as your plan holds: 500 on Start, 2,500 on Grow and 10,000 on Scale, with 50 on the trial. The number of addresses actually found is lower, because each credit is one attempt and not every profile has a match. Your own Hunter, Dropcontact or Snov.io key adds that provider's credits on top.
Can I use my own Hunter or Snov.io account in PhantomBuster?
Yes. In the email discovery step you pick PhantomBuster, Hunter.io, Dropcontact.io or Snov.io, or a combination, and paste your API key for the third-party options. PhantomBuster spends your provider's credits before its own, which stretches a small plan and, according to its help center, can improve match rates.
What is the best way to send cold email to PhantomBuster leads?
Export or sync the found addresses into a dedicated cold email tool that warms your mailboxes, rotates sending across several inboxes and stops a sequence when someone replies. AutoMail does that and also writes each email from research on the prospect's company, so a PhantomBuster sheet becomes a sequence without anyone drafting copy. Plans start at $24 a month annual, and the full list is on our pricing page.
