AutoMail

SmartReach vs Instantly pricing and which is better for cold email

The short answer

Instantly is the better buy for a team that wants high-volume cold email from many mailboxes plus a lead database from the same vendor. SmartReach is the better buy for a team that also calls and works LinkedIn in the same cadence and wants unlimited users on one plan. Skip both entry plans before you compare: SmartReach Basic has one user, no inbox rotation and a 50 emails a day cap per mailbox, and Instantly Growth stops at 1,000 uploaded contacts. The fair match is SmartReach Email Outreach Plus at $89 a month for 50,000 active prospects against Instantly Hypergrowth at $97 for 25,000 contacts and 125,000 emails.

Quick verdict

Who each tool is for

Both SmartReach and Instantly are capable. Here is the shortest honest way to choose, with where AutoMail fits.

Pick SmartReach

Your reps call and connect on LinkedIn inside the same cadence, and you want one plan for the whole team. Email Outreach Plus at $89 covers 50,000 active prospects with rotation and unlimited users, Sales Engagement Plus at $99 adds three calling seats and three LinkedIn manual seats, and LinkedIn automation is $29 a month per account.

Pick Instantly

Cold email is the channel and volume is the goal. Unlimited email accounts and warm-up on every plan, a lead database through Instantly Credits from $47 a month, and the larger review base. Budget Hypergrowth at $97 once your list passes 1,000 contacts.

Pick AutoMail

Sending is not the problem, the copy is. The AI researches each company, writes the opener and every follow-up for that prospect, sends from warmed and rotated inboxes, pauses on reply and routes interested prospects to your booking link. Flat per workspace from $24 a month annual, unlimited seats.

SmartReach and Instantly land on the same shortlist because both start under $50 a month and both say unlimited sending on the plan card. They are built for different jobs. Instantly is a cold email sender: connect as many Google or Microsoft mailboxes as you want, warm them up, rotate sending across them and pay for emails and contacts. SmartReach is a sales engagement platform that grew from cold email into calling, LinkedIn steps and WhatsApp, with separate Email Outreach and Sales Engagement plan families.

We read the SmartReach pricing page on October 24, 2026 and the Instantly pricing page on October 19, 2026. SmartReach lists Email Outreach at $29, $89, $199 (shown struck through from $279) and $499 a month, and Sales Engagement at $39, $99, $249 (struck from $349) and $599, with yearly billing saving up to 11 percent. Instantly lists its outreach plans at $47 (Growth), $97 (Hypergrowth) and $358 (Light Speed) a month, or $37.60, $77.60 and $286.30 billed annually, and sells its lead database separately as Instantly Credits from $47 a month.

The detail that decides most budgets sits in the SmartReach comparison table, not on its cards. Basic allows 50 emails a day per email account and has no inbox rotation and no ESP matching, so the $29 plan is a single-sender plan for one user. Plus raises the cap to 100 a day per account, adds rotation, unlimited users and 25 warm-up accounts. On Instantly the cap that bites is contacts: Growth includes 5,000 emails but only 1,000 uploaded contacts, so any list over 1,000 people pushes you to Hypergrowth.

The third option

Where AutoMail fits between them

The AI writes the sequence

Both tools above leave the copy to you. AutoMail researches each prospect and writes a genuine 1:1 opener and follow-ups, so relevance, not just volume, drives the reply rate.

Deliverability built in

Inbox rotation, gradual warm-up and a spam-score check on every send keep personalized copy in the primary inbox, built for the 2026 Google and Microsoft sender rules.

Replies become meetings

When a prospect answers, the sequence pauses, intent is classified, and meeting-ready replies route to your booking link and CRM. Flat per workspace, unlimited seats, no credits.

One honest caveat: AutoMail has no built-in lead database, so bring or sync your own verified list. If prospecting data is what you need most, keep a data tool for that and run the outreach here.

Good questions

SmartReach vs Instantly, answered

SmartReach is better for a team that calls and works LinkedIn in the same cadence, because its Sales Engagement plans include calling seats and LinkedIn seats with unlimited users from Plus. Instantly is better for pure cold email volume, with unlimited email accounts and warm-up on every plan and a lead database from the same vendor.
On list price, yes. SmartReach Email Outreach Basic is $29 a month against $47 for Instantly Growth, and SmartReach Plus is $89 for 50,000 active prospects against $97 for 25,000 contacts on Instantly Hypergrowth. Basic is a one-user plan with a 50 emails a day cap per mailbox and no rotation, so most teams compare Plus with Hypergrowth.
No. The SmartReach plan card and comparison table both list no inbox rotation and no ESP matching on Basic, for Email Outreach and Sales Engagement alike. Rotation starts on Plus at $89 a month, which also raises the send cap from 50 to 100 emails a day per email account and allows unlimited users.
Instantly Growth includes 1,000 uploaded contacts and 5,000 emails a month for $47, or $37.60 billed annually. That fits a five-step sequence to about 1,000 people. Hypergrowth at $97 raises it to 25,000 contacts and 125,000 emails, and Light Speed at $358 to 100,000 contacts and 500,000 emails.
SmartReach lists Email Outreach at $29, $89, $199 and $499 a month and Sales Engagement at $39, $99, $249 and $599, read on October 24, 2026, with yearly billing saving up to 11 percent. Add-ons include 30,000 more active prospects for $79 a month, LinkedIn automation at $29 per account and calling seats at $19.
Instantly lists outreach plans at $47, $97 and $358 a month, or $37.60, $77.60 and $286.30 billed annually, with Enterprise quoted. Its lead database is sold separately as Instantly Credits from $47 a month, and bundles that combine sending with data start at $94 a month.
SmartReach includes one client dashboard on Plus and three on Pro, with extra clients at $29 a month each, which suits small agencies that want each client separated. Instantly suits agencies that send high volume and want lead data in the same tool, with Light Speed at $358 for 500,000 emails and 100,000 contacts.
Both include AI writing help, but you still bring the template, the variables and the sequence logic. AutoMail researches each company and writes the opener and every follow-up for that prospect, then sends from warmed and rotated inboxes and stops on reply. It is priced flat per workspace from $24 a month annual.
For the same unlimited-mailbox sender model, Smartlead and PlusVibe are the usual third options, from $39 and $37 a month. If sending is not the gap and the copy is, AutoMail writes a researched 1:1 sequence for each prospect and routes interested replies to your booking link, at $49 a month or $24 annual with unlimited seats.
